Histogenesis
An Introduction to Histogenesis
Histogenesis is defined as "the formation of tissuesand organsfrom undifferentiated cells" (Encarta Dictionary).
Primary Germ Layers
The Primary Germ Layers form the tissues and ultimately organs of a fetus. The innermost layer of this set is the endoderm. The middle layer is termed the mesoderm, and the outermost layer is called the ectoderm. Each of these layers are responsible for the production of certain tissues and organs.
