Electroejaculation
Electroejaculation is a procedure used to obtain semensamples from sexually mature malemammals. The procedure is applied for breeding programs and research purposes in various species, as well as in the treatment of anejaculation and ejaculatory dysfunction in humanmales.
Electroejaculation is carried out under a general anesthetic. An electric probe is inserted into the rectumadjacent to the prostate. The probe delivers an electric current that stimulates nearby nerves, resulting in contraction of the pelvicmusclesand ejaculation.
