Overview
In addition to providing an autism-friendly environment for education in mainstream academic curriculum, Pathlight School offers special educational programmes to impart life skills for students with autism and related disorders.
Café@Pathlight
In January 2006, Pathlight School opened a special Starbuckscafe, known as Café@Pathlight, to teach some of its students, aged 12 and 15, simple work and life skills. <ref> “Pathlight School trains autistic students to operate newly-opened cafe,” Channel NewsAsia, 19 Jaunary 2006. ? by May Wong. </ref>
To prepare for the opening of Café@Pathlight, volunteers and staff of the Pathlight School underwent 3 to 4 weeks of training with Starbucks so that they can later impart the skills and knowledge to the students.
