Transgenic bacteria
Transgenic bacteria, refers to bacteriawhich have been genetically engineered. The first example of this occured in 1978 when Herbert Boyerworking at a University of California laboratory took a synthetic version of the human insulin gene and inserted into the bacterium Escherichia coli.
