Biomedical informatics
Biomedical informatics is a discipline related to Bioinformaticsand has its roots in medical informaticsor healthcare informatics. It studies the use of information technologyand advanced research computingin the practice of biomedical sciencesand medicine.
The major areas encompassed by it are clinicalInformatics, dental informatics, nursing informatics, veterinary informatics, pharmacyinformatics, medical imaginginformatics, public healthinformatics, proteomics, genomicsand drug design.
