In dermatology, hyperpigmentation refers to increased pigment, usually of the skinor nails. Dark spot on skin also know as Hyperpigmentation can begin to surface on your skin where acne pimpleonce resided. These are caused by condition known as "post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation" brought upon by overproduction of melanin (naturally occurring pigment in your body) in a reaction to inflammation.<ref>{{web reference
