Vellus
Vellus hair is short, fine, "peach fuzz" body hair. Vellus hair is a very soft and short hair that grows in most places on the human body in both sexes. In Caucasionsit is often colourless, or blonde. It is best seen in women and children, as they have less terminal hairto obscure it. Vellus hair is also found in pre-adolescents (Tanner stage1) as well as in male pattern baldness. Vellus hair folliclesdo not have sebaceous glands.
A common slang word for vellus hairs is mubes (short for mubic hair), due to its close relation to the term 'pubes' (short for pubic hair- often the next stage of development of hair in adolescents).
