Meigs syndrome
In medicine, Meigs syndrome, also Meigs' syndrome, is the triad of ovarian fibroma(a benign tumor of the ovary), ascitesand pleural effusion. It was first described in 1937 by Meigs and Cass.
Treatment consists of thoracentesisand paracentesis, to drain off the excess fluid, and unilateral salpingo-oophorectomyto correct the underlying etiology.
