Tao Yin
Tao Yin (Chinese: 導引; Hanyu Pinyin: dǎoyǐn "guide and pull") exercises were an ancient precursor of qigong, specifically the variety known as neigong, and was practised in ChineseTaoistmonasteriesfor healthand spiritualcultivation. Attested from at least 500 BC. Tao Yin is also said to be (along with Shaolin Ch'uan) a primary formative ingredient in the well-known soft styleChinese martial artT'ai Chi Ch'uan.
Tao Yin is still taught under the name of Daoyin Yangsheng Gong at the BeijingUniversity of Physical Education.
