Atmit
Atmit is a nutritional supplementused to fight faminein impoverished countries. The word atmit orginated in Ethiopiaand means "thin, nourishing porridge."
Charity and relief organizations have created various forumulas for this porridge. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsformula of atmit, which was sent in 2005 to Nigerwas made of the following:
- Fine oatmealflour50%
- Nonfat milk25%
- Sugar20%
- Vitaminsand minerals5%
Recently, atmit has been distributed to Uganda, Sudan, South Africa, Haiti, Gaza, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lankaand Niger.
