Body fat percentage
Body fat percentage is an index used to measure adiposity. It is more accurate than body mass index, but is less frequently used. This is because most of the techniques used to measure body fat percentage require expensive equipment or skilled professionals.
Techniques for measuring body fat percentage include:
- calipers/ skinfold
- body part circumference
- scales or hand-held devices that measure bioelectrical impedance
- underwater weighing
