Nurse cell
Nurse cell is a term used to describe a process in the disease trichinosis, in which a trichinella larvaetakes up residence in a cell. The body of the host generates development of the blood vesselsthat surround the cell, in order to nurture the parasite. In trichinosis, nurse cells are likely to be skeletal musclecells, as this is the type of cell that supports the life of the parasite.
