Oncomelania hupensis and its subspecies Oncomelania hupensis hupensis are snails. The two species are important vectors of parasiticinfection in the tropics and sub-tropics. Schistosomablood flukes and paragonimuslung flukes use O. hupensis as a host during part of their normal life cycle.
