Insulin shock therapy
Insulin shock therapy is a treatment for schizophrenia, psychosisand drug addictionwhich involves injecting a patient with massive amounts of insulin, which causes convulsionsand coma. It was discovered by Polish researcher Manfred Sakelin 1933and was used well into the 1950s.
