Aboulia

Aboulia or Abulia, in neurology, refers to a lack of will or initiative. It is usually result of physical damage to the brain, result of diseases like encephalitis lethargicaor extensive lobotomy. If it has a sudden onset, it can be a symptom of cerebral hemorrhage(subarachnoid). The patient is unable to act or make decisions independently.

The opposite of aboulia is hyberboulia.
