Phytotreatment
Phytotreatment is an environmentalterm referring to the cultivationof specialized plantsthat absorb specific contaminantsfrom the soilthrough their rootsor foliage. This reduces the concentration of contaminants in the soil, but incorporates them into biomassesthat may be released back into the environment when the plant dies or is harvested.
