Adept

The adept masters the highest of esoterical knowledge. Adepts are identified in yoga, the craftand other systems of occultism, spiritualismand magic.

Although the term often denotes specifically initiatoryknowledge, in many traditions it is accepted that nature (as well as nurture) can bestow mastery of the purported knowledge, art and power.

Adepts in games

Several games have adopted the word "adept" to describe a character with special abilities. In the Nintendovideo gameFire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Adept is a special skill that allows the player to attack 2-4 times, depending on how many times they could normally attack. In the Game Boy Advancegame Golden Sunand the sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age, an Adept is a person who is able to use Psynergy. Adepts are usually part of a clan that has the purpose of guarding a holy, secret or magical place.
